General Information | Just in front of Turkey, in the sunniest area of Greece, is located the Dodecanese, a group of 15 islands. Most yachting people identify the archipelago with the large and cosmopolitan islands Rhodes - where the legendary Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World used to be until it was destroyed by an earthquake - and Kos, a popular nautical base in the Dodecanese, but there are other lesser-known and unspoiled islands with paradisiac beaches and bays, important archaeological finds and impressive Byzantine and medieval monuments waiting to be discovered. |
